Prep Your Pout for Valentines Day

Ah love is in the air! Romance is around us and for those of us with a special someone or even a date on Valentine’s Day, our lips are about to be smooched endlessly ……….or at least we hope. That’s right Valentine’s Day is here again and much like the stroke of midnight on New Year’s or standing under a mistletoe during Christmas, kissing is a traditional and expected custom of this day.

The lips are one of the most sensual parts of the human anatomy and definitely an organ that will get some exercise on Valentine’s day (if you have a Valentine that is!!!). There are millions of neurons directed to the lips that not only make you feel the smooth, warm and tender touch of your loved one, but as research shows even allows you to be able to find your lover’s lips in the dark. So it’s important to get the perfect smoochable pout for the day to come.

Are your lips are still feeling the drying effects of past winter? Never fear, I’ve got just the solution. This homemade lip exfoliator is easy and sweet, literally, because all you really need is sugar. 🙂

Here’s how to make it:

1) Apply a generous amount of petroleum jelly or chapstick/lip balm to your lips (Blistex medicated lip balm in the little blue jar is really good for this and tingly).

2) Get a teaspoonful of brown sugar and dip your finger into it and rub all over your lips in a circular motion until all the dead skin (eww gross I know) or flakes are removed.

3) Rinse with a little warm water and pat gently with a towel to dry.

4) Apply some of the medicated lip balm to your lips again.

Voila! The result is smoother, softer and more beautiful lips just in time for Valentines Day.

Lots of Love and Kisses
