Out with the Old, In with the New: Books I’m Looking Forward to in 2018

Hello lovelies,

It’s 2018!!! Woot! Woot! We made it to another year! And you know what that means……………… New Year New Books!!!! For a bibliophile like me with a to be read list a mile long, it may strike the question… ‘Why in heavens name do I need more books?’ Well the answer is simple books are Ah-May-Zing!!!! Yes they are! A new book is a new journey just waiting to be explored. It’s new exploration, new ideas and an amazing opportunity to learn something that’s beyond your normal experiences. I mean why wouldn’t you want to meet new people, travel new places and have new experiences all in the pages of a book? The perfect recipe for a superb dish!!!!

Now that the gibber jabber is out the way, it’s time for me to tell you which books I’m absolutely oogling for the new year. The books whose summaries and covers have lured me into a desire to start a brand new relationship.

 1. War Storm by Victoria Aveyard

Release Date: May 15th 2018

I first fell in love with Victoria Aveyard and the Red Queen series when I saw the cover of the Red Queen book last year. It was truly love at first sight. As I read each page, I felt the butterflies and pitter patter beat of my heart of a new romance. I couldn’t wait for more. The relationship was too bewitching. So I got the other books in the series and the romance grew. But alas, all good things must come to an end and we’ve arrived at the end of our relationship together and with an eager anticipation I look to this final book as the final hoorah in our love.

2. Royals by Rachel Hawkins

Release Date: May 1st 2018

If you’ve been following me for a while then, I don’t think I really need to explain why this book is on the list. I loooooove a good contemporary romance novel especially one that features a royal/ royalty theme at play. Yes I admit it! I love gushing princes, reluctant princesses and the works. What can I say Disney corrupted me! This book will fit in just nicely on my bookshelf.

Ah my love has returned to me with another tale. If you guys have been following me for a while then you know the love for Rick Riordan and his books. From the very first inception of Percy Jackson to his new series around Apollo, our relationship has been  growing and blossoming beyond measure. Now we’ve reached the end of another mythological journey as he releases the final book in the Trials of Apollo series. But with this our long-term relationship, I’m sure there will be more of his books for me to ravage in the future.

5. Let’s Talk About Love by Claire Kann

I’ll be honest that this is not necessarily a book I would normally jump to grab. But I’ve promised myself in recent times to start exploring new genres of books and new themes explored in books. So while I was perusing GoodReads for expected 2018 books and ran across this one I was like, “Yes! I can dig it!” and now I can say without a doubt that I’m excited to read this book.

Ah yes!!! Contemporary romance at its finest! A tale of our love being stronger than any obstacle. We can face anything as long as we are TOGETHER! I know! I know! The them of love conquers all can be a bit overplayed but what can I say? Who doesn’t love love or at least like to hope that things work out in the end despite all challenges?
