Beat hyperpigmentation with Earth elements Tumeric & Lime mask

Hello lovelies!

A little over a year ago I started to notice this buzz on instagram and by a few local bloggers about the Earth Elements Tumeric and Lime mask. I mean it was literally everywhere and it seemed like everyone was using it! Now I’m not always one to follow trends because I’m a firm believer in what’s right for you isn’t necessarily right for me but this was getting out of hand and I have to admit my interest was piqued. Therefore, my curious minds had the wheels turning. I needed to find out more about this mystery product. Was it all hype or was it the real deal? I had to know!!!

Consequently, this is where my love for skincare collided with my love for Science. With any hypothesis, there must be an experiment and some investigation. Some sort of trial and error to prove or disprove a theory. Or was I acting more like a detective searching for clues to solve a big mystery? Hmm… Either way I needed to find out for myself what the deal was with this product and so it was off to Earth Elements to get the goods. I went with my sister and we both copped a container.

Now I admit that I haven’t had many breakouts in recent years. For the most part my skin has minimal pimples unless my diet is poor. My skin is very unforgiving of a poor diet and becomes a walking billboard for acne. However, what I do have is hyperpigmentation and dark spots that have been left behind after years of having an acne-riddled face. So when I saw that this product would help even skin tone and leave my skin looking brighter and healthier, I was like ‘Yes Please and Thank You!’ and I knew I had to start using as soon as possible.

So what’s in this stuff anyways?

With its powerful combination of ingredients, this all-natural facial mask is recommended for those of us who suffer from acne, hyperpigmentation and/or eczema and is said to even skin tone with recurrent use.

A quick looksy at the label revealed both the ingredients and the properties they contain that makes them potent skincare allies. These include:

  • Tumeric Powder: antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial
  • Bentonite Clay: removes toxins and impurities from the skin, tighten and tones the complexion, and improves blood circulation, which may in turn aid in cell regeneration
  • Apricot Extract: smoothes and refreshes dry, mature skin
  • Lavender Essential Oil: calming effect on mind and body
  • Lime Essential Oil: natural astringent reputed to help balance the skin

My Review:

After cleansing my skin, I applied the mask to my face in a circular motion, avoiding the eyes (as recommended) and let the mask sit for around 10 minutes. Once the 10 minutes was up, I washed off my face with warm water and prepared myself to be amazed!!! Presto pronto I was a new woman!!!

Okay so it doesn’t work just like that and I actually used it weekly for a few more weeks but once I stayed consistent I really did notice improvements in my skin tone. Even my family noticed how brighter and clearer my skin looked!!!! The GlowUp was real!

The only problem I had was that when I initially used the product there was a slight burning and tingling sensation felt on my skin. It didn’t cause any redness, swelling or rashes however. As time went by the sensation faded and all was right again in the world. As a result of this, I would say that if you;re skin is sensitive and you want to try this product then less is more. Use the bare minimum to cover your face but if the irritation or burning becomes unbearable, then it’s time to wash it off and maybe gift it to someone whose skin can handle it.

I’m liking this mask as a part of my skincare routine. I think the brew of ingredients really work well on the skin and I did find improvement in my skin tone with use. My skin was definitely noticeably tighter and brighter!!!

So how about you? Have you tried this product before? Did you like it? Noticed your skin getting better? Have you used any of the ingredients on your face? I love hearing from you guys. Leave you comments down below!!!

  1. This mask sounds interesting indeed. I usually drink my turmeric first thing in the morning and I think I may have tried an at home, diy turmeric mask. Oddly I never saw it on Insta, now I’ll have to go hunting:)
