5 Tips to making that friend getaway the best vacation yet
Summer is finally here, and what better season than this one to enjoy a holiday with friends! When you have a big group of people that are going on holiday together; fun is guaranteed, but it can easily get stressful if you don’t know how to plan a group holiday. That’s why I have a few tips to help you plan a memorable holiday for you and your friends, so you can all enjoy a stress-free Summer break.
1. Spread the duties
Don’t be in charge of everything yourself, after all, this is supposed to be a group holiday so everyone should be involved in planning it. Assign different duties to different people, from booking the flights to booking accommodation and any tours or activities. You can also create a Facebook or Whatsapp group to make sure everyone is in the loop and knows the plan.
2. Make an itinerary
One of the challenges of travelling in a group is the fact that everyone has different preferences and opinions. That’s why it’s essential to make a rough itinerary based on what everyone would like to see and visit. The group doesn’t have to stick to it, but it’s important to discuss the plan ahead of time to make sure everyone is on the same page and none of your friends feels left out when the time comes to explore the holiday destination.
3. Book group accommodation
If you’re going on holiday with a group, renting self-catering accommodation is the best option. Booking hotel rooms for everyone can be a bit of a hassle, and by booking a holiday house you’ll end up saving money. It’s also a flexible solution as you can cook your own meals, have a fun party back at the house at the end of a day out, and even choose features like a swimming pool or a breathtaking view.
4. Have a shared money pot
We all know holidays with friends usually end up in people owing each other money, that’s why having a money pot is a great idea! Each member of the group contributes with an equal amount of cash that can then be used to pay for transportation, groceries and other shared costs. This way, the bills are always split evenly and you avoid the confusion of who owes who what.
5. Remember to have fun
It’s a holiday, so it’s supposed to be fun and stress-free. I know it’s easy to get caught up in the planning hassle, but if everyone helps out and if you follow my tips, your Summer holiday will go smoothly and you and your friends will all have a great time!
